Plumbing installed; proper backflow devices — Inspector Note: Observed mop sink installed directly next to a vegetable prep sink. Numbers and Capacities. At least one service sink or one curbed cleaning facility equipped with a floor drain shall be provided and conveniently located for the cleaning of mops or similar wet floor cleaning tools and for the disposal of mop water and similar liquid waste. Discussed with the PIC to relocate mop sink away from prep sinks in order to prevent contamination.

PIC present, demonstrates knowledge, performs duties — Inspector Note: Observed facility without a food allergy awareness training. Employees are properly trained in food safety, including food allergy awareness, as it relates to their assigned duties. Discussed with PIC to obtain allergy awareness training and produce to the Health Authority upon request.

Management knowledge, responsibilities, reporting — Inspector Note: PIC could not demonstrate in a verifiable manner that food employees are/were aware of their responsibility to report symptoms/illnesses regarding foodborne illnesses. Discussed with PIC to obtain employee health reporting agreement forms and produce to the Health Authority upon request.

Response procedures for vomiting & diarrheal events — Inspector Note: Observed facility without proper procedures in order to respond to vomit/fecal events. A food establishment shall have written procedures for employees to follow and an EPA registered disinfectant effective against Norovirus available on-site at the food service establishment when responding to vomiting or diarrheal events that involve the discharge of vomitus or fecal matter onto surfaces in the food service establishment Discussed with the PIC to ensure that proper procedures are readily available on-site in order to respond to vomit/fecal events.
